Who qualifies
- Businesses, non-profits, community groups and institutions in non-residential buildings
- Industrial and agricultural facilities
- Tourism and short-term rental accommodations
- The building must have been occupied for at least 6 months. New construction is not eligible.
How to apply, step by step
- Choose eligible productsPick products from efficiencyPEI's eligible list. Lighting must meet the listed criteria, such as DLC listing.
- Check the $5,000 lineefficiencyPEI says rebates of $5,000 or more need pre-approval before any purchase, with project quotes. Under $5,000, you buy and install first, then apply.
- Gather your documentsUse the checklist below, taken from the efficiencyPEI program page.
- ApplyApply online through the Province, or drop off or mail a paper application to efficiencyPEI or any Access PEI location.

Solar: Maritime Electric net metering
- Maritime Electric net metering allows solar systems up to 100 kW.
- A second meter measures the power you send to the grid. Credits are in kWh and are applied to your bill.
- Maritime Electric reviews the application in about 3 to 4 weeks. Construction cannot start until the agreement is approved, and we handle that paperwork for you.
- Systems around 30 kW and larger may need three-phase power.

EV chargers for businesses
Federal funding for business and multi-unit EV chargers (Natural Resources Canada ZEVIP) has no open application window right now. The program runs to March 31, 2027, so new rounds may open. Ask us and we will tell you what is available when you are ready to install.
Rebate programs change, and efficiencyPEI makes every decision on eligibility and payment. Power East does not apply for, approve or pay rebates.
